Rooted in Alabama. United for Parkinson's.

We believe that care shouldn’t stop at the hospital door.

We’re working with healthcare providers, neurologists, rehab teams, and community partners across Alabama to help bridge the gap between medical care and day-to-day life. We strive to expand access to therapies and experiences that support quality of life and independence as long as possible, especially for those whose symptoms have become part of their daily rhythm.

We know that many people with Parkinson’s may never see a movement disorders specialist or find consistent supportive therapies — especially in rural parts of our state. That’s why we are building music therapy programs in places people already live and gather, partnering with hospitals, clinics, community centers, and local care teams.

We are proud to provide in-person, PD care in:

Music for Brain & Body Health

Living with Parkinson’s can make daily activities, like walking, reaching, & speaking, feel less like you. Music allows your brain to utilize alternate neural pathways. Rhythm and melody can help your body move more smoothly, helping movement and speech feel easier, more natural, and more confident.

With music, you may notice that:

  • walking feels steadier

  • starting a movement is easier

  • your voice feels stronger

  • your body feels more relaxed and supported

At Rooted Music Therapy, sessions are led by trained music therapists who understand Parkinson’s and adapt each class to the people in the room.

You don’t need musical experience.
You don’t need to keep up with anyone else.
You can participate in the way that feels right for you that day.

Whether you’re newly diagnosed or further along, music therapy meets you where you are and grows with you.

"This is the best thing I've done since I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. "
